You will be automatically enrolled into specific challenges throughout the year. If you’d like to join a different challenge, read on to learn how to do so.
Joining a challenge
If you would like to join a challenge, follow the below steps:
- On the home page you will see a “Challenges” section underneath the welcome message. Select, “explore challenges to navigate to the challenges section. Alternatively you can select “Explore” from the home page.
- Select “View all” next to the challenges section to see all of the challenge options
- Select one you are interested in and select “Join challenge” (note: for team challenges, you will be asked to create or join a team)
To join a private challenge, you must receive an invite. If you are registered on Sprout, you will receive an email and a notification with a request to join the challenge.
Once in a challenge, you can view other participants and post on the challenge’s stream. You will also be able to track the eligible activities to contribute points towards the challenge. Click on the tabs to navigate through these different options.
To view other challenge participants, navigate to the "About" tab and click on the profile picture icons next to where it says "X members".
To leave a challenge, go to the challenge page and click the "..." in the top right corner. Then select "Leave [name of challenge]". You also have the option to invite others to join the challenge from here.
Creating a challenge
Challenges can be created using any of the activities available to track on Sprout.
The following example explains how to create a step challenge:
- Click on the “Explore” icon
- Select “view all” next to the Challenges section
- Select “+ Create” in the upper right-hand corner
- Select “Compete as an individual”
- Select “Most points wins”
- Choose “Selected activities”
- Select “Walking (steps)”, “Movement (steps)”, and “Wheelchair walk pace (pushes)”
- Select “Next”, then choose a start date and duration (i.e. how long the challenge will last)
- Select “Next”, then add a challenge photo (optional)
- Select “Next”, then give your challenge a name and (optional) description
- Turn on the toggle next to “Make this a public challenge” if you’d like anyone to be able to join the challenge
- Select “Create”
To invite your colleagues to the challenge, go to the “About” tab in the challenge page and click “Invite”. Search by name to find your colleagues. If you cannot find them, it means they have not registered on Sprout.
